For the ones who were on the point Fri-Sun. who was the dude who kept his Suburban right on the point? During all the mayhem, I was waiting for an 8 ouncer to end up thru the windshield.
Also, some of the "regulars" are kinda ignorant. There was this group from Va. who parked right in the middle of all the trucks lined up on the edges, and they more or less just shoved their way through everyone, called people names, etc. Just plain rude. And god forbid if anyone would have said anything to one of them, cause you would end up fighting all of them. When it gets like that, it takes the fun out of it. This same group started a bonfire within 3 ft of the front of my buddies truck, with the wind blowing right into it. He had to move it, cause he couldnt say anything for fear of fighting 10 young and dumb juvenile delinquents. Pure disrespect for others. Sorry for the rant, just some things pi$$ me off about this selfish world we live in. AllenC |

I watched the locals real close. I started to find a small opening and lettin it rip, instead of walking south to cast. i definitely had more hook ups. Some people need to realize that life is too short. I fish is just a fish, no need to risk death over a lousy fish. i have heard some horror stories from down there. people pulling guns, knifes, etc. I take my fishing seriously, but come on, you need to draw a line somewhere, but I forgot, that some people down there dont know how to write

Allen your right, I did the same thing. I found a crack and let ti rip. I hooked allot omore fihs once I started doing that. Trying to do the maypole all the way to the sweet spot wasnt working.........and honestly its the barneys who mess up the works. They cant cast and dont stay tight to thier line or keep up with the drift.........I actually spent time hanging out and just watching.......I had as much fun doign that as I did fishing

since John M and i were parked very close, i would imagine that was the same crew who had parked just behind us and playing loud music at ungodly hours. these were part of the "pack" that figured out it was faster to cast over a dozen people than wait for your bait to work its way up to the point. they weren't as "physically imtimidating" as others who just pushed their way in, but like an earlier post, if you had a problem with one, i am sure that it would have escalated into a problem with the entire group. after catching my big fish, i sat back and watched the action for a while and returned after dark, when it was much less crowded. different strokes for different folks......

I am aware of the young fellows you are commenting about. I see them down there quite often. Just remember, we were all young once and we all made mistakes. Maybe some day they will look back and realize that they could have done things differently.
Live and let live. Try to enjoy yourself and if it's too crowded fish somewhere else. I am seriously considering that myself. I would rather catch one drum by myself than 4-5 in that circus at the point. Not to mention the discouraging brake-offs that are bound to happen. FISH HARD, Gary |

I enjoy fishin the point with most of the folks out there. Just this certain group rubbed me, and alot of folks the wrong way. Even when I was young, I respected other people. Its in the upbringing, how they were raised.
And oh yes..the mystery break-offs....gota love um. Allen |
