Going to the OBX for my first time this up-coming weekend. I only have 2 days to fish and planned on hitting the Point,Oregon Inlet and the jettys by the Ocracoke ferry. I would also like to try some pier fishing, haven't done it since Long Branch burned down. Does anybody know of a open pier this time of year? I have searched the web but all I could confirm was that the Avalon pier is closed.
Thanks for all the reply's on my previous posts

I don't think there are any piers open this time of year but I may be wrong. Good luck down there and let us know how you do.

Supafly is right....all piers are closed. They may have a side gate that is left open and some of the locals go out there. I don't know how you'd gain access or what they'd say if you just walked out- you could get charged w/ trespassing too.

You may ask around at the bait shops and see if the gates are open if the owners care if people fish off the piers, even if the pier house is closed.

Good luck,
