Easter week we rented a house in Avon. Then come Oct. it is usually just me and a couple buddies that go down for a week or so. Not sure if it will be the week of the Red Drum tourney or not.

I am gonna head down over my spring break at the end of March if I hear of any large Drum activity. I have never caught one before but after catching a bunch of puppies over Christmas week I can't wait to tangle with a large one.

Legal it ain't unless you have a buddy fishing at the time you are sleeping. No camping in National Seashore. Safe? Ask the guys from Charlotte a few years back that parked New Years Eve on the very point in a new Ford 350 Extended cab. They were warned they were too close. They went to sleep and the wind shifted. The truck and camper got Very wet.

As long as you are sensible its safe. There have been a few incidents in recent years of theft, but nothing major that I have heard of. OBX is best done in pairs. Even being cautious and very safe, S*** happens.

I'll be there as often as possible.
