Default Camera Mount

Does anyone know if a camera mount is available with scotty rod holders? Just thought it might be kinda nice to have a camera mounted for video and taking pictures. Especially when fishing alone.

I saw a mount that a guy had fabricated himself and was selling on Ebay. I think I'm going to take a shot at making my own this winter.

Most digi cams that I owned have a 1/4" or 10-24 thread on the bottom of the cam. I use an old FF ram mount and attached a bolt to where the FF sits. Cam twists right on. I'm sure there are better ways to make a cam mount but for stuff hanging around it works for me.

The only problem is getting those big bass in the shot.

I can't find anyone to stand me long enough to fish with me and take pics. Nor is it easy to find a fishing partner who keeps his mouth shut over a spot.

I'll stick to my cam mount when the camera feels like working. Use my mind to photo the rest.

This is the one I made for a Scotty mount. Not the cheapest but it works great.
I started with a portable tripod from Radio shack about 7 bucks.
Took one standard Scotty shaft and one extended and interlocked them so the the short shaft end was on the top end. Use a thumb screw and a washer nut combo to put it all together.
The end does need to be slimmed down a bit ( bench grinder worked fine) to fit inside the tripod base.
Remove the legs of the tripod ( single screw underneath) and the shaft will slip inside. Use some epoxy to keep it there. and that is it.
It is fully adjustable and very sturdy and stable.

That's it. Like $7 in Radio Shack. Then a trip to Homeys for the spring clip.

One screw under the ball head.

I like the idea, thanks for the post. I'm gonna re-think my current set-up and make it fool proof this winter. Fly

Look at a customer of mines videos on you tube. Just search for (spinfisherbob) He uses a go-pro on a RAM mount. The go-pro has a 150 degree fish eye so it captures everything that goes on in the yak.
