Just buy the oven cleaner that can be sprayed on cold. Spray the area with it - let it set for a few minutes - wipe it clean. Also works well on the outside of pot/pans that get stuff baked onto them

Steve, just bought a bunch of stainless from Aqua Design, they were cheap and easy to apply. i got the brushed so you can do it in a checker board pattern. I cut them with a tile saw and used PL-400 To hold them. The checker board made it not look like a sea of stainless.

How about a mirror, relative inexpensive, easy to clean, and would make your cooking surface look a bit bigger and brighter.
