I've heard people say that the Yankees spend the most money on scouting and player development, but nobody can produce the numbers. It wouldn't surprise me if it's true, but it would be interesting to see who spends what.

Only in America can a bunch of low life uneducated steroid junkies become multi-millionaires by playing a stupid KIDS GAME, and become idolized by the public. If you don't see this as demoralizing and disgraceful, then I guess the saying "ignorance is bliss" holds true.

gimme the cliff notes

20% home grown "talent" for the Mets. That's 5 players out of a 25 man roster. They went out and traded prospects, or spent good money, for the other 20 stiffs

Thanks a whole ****ing lot, Omar.

To be fair, I don't recall a team with so many injuries to so many key players as the Mets in '09.

That's also a fair point.

Lou Merloni? ******* Shakespeare himself. He should be selling pretzels on Lansdowne Street.

Come up with a quote from someone semi known from Boston. Even dumb as **** Affleck looks like Sir Anthony Hopkins compared to Meloni. The dude from Law and Order I thought....but noooo. Joe Merlino from Philly would be better.
