I turned both my last 2 trucks over while 4-wheelin', one up the poconos and one at a WMA near my house!

if i'm remembering right ; you did a cat back exhaust ??
i'm thinking about doing a leveling kit to the new 350 and adding airbags ...
i figgured with a 350 i wouldn't have to do anything to it
it carries the camper pretty well , but not as good as the 250 with the upgrades it did to that

turbo back. ITs actually easy, so long as the idea of cutting the old down pipe out doesnt scare you. IT took me about 3 hours to put the new one in.

I dindt chip it, I reprogrammed it, used the super chips flashpaq, its been great and it has paid for itself in fuel savings.

you got a new 09 350 and it doesnt carry the camper well? same camper? Whats the ratign on your truck? mine is 11,900 and im about right there loaded i think. I didntput airbags on my truck it handles the camper like a dream. I put ranchos on to take the sway out. Trtyuh be toldf I find the ride much more stable without the airbags. Joel took his airbags off for that reason too.

no it carries it fine , just not as well as the 250..
the darn thing goes down 3.5 inches in the rear with it on and that throws the headlights off!!!
so i'm thinking (and thats dangerous ) if i level the front 2.5 inches , then put air bags on the back so when i put the camper on i can re-level the whole rig out that will cure the headlight problem

i'm way under the rating
it's just the fact this truck doesn't ride as good as the 250 that was over the rating, the headlight thing , and i need to get the rack up just a bit more for the ferry at portsmouth .
they changed the whole set up in '08 on the front end
so i had to re-engineer the rack mounting set up the rack sets lower now .......i got a set of drop receivers , flipped them over to raise the rack as far as i could without it getting in the way of the headlights ..but i just need about an inch more to get on and off the ferry at low water .. it never ends
so i'm hoping this works .. oh and some point in time new shocks .. the stock ones suck !!and a bigger sway bar , the stock one is like a tooth pick compared to the after market ones .
the air bags do add to the sway , but i found that if you re-do the bump stops the ride is great !!
yup get the '01 all figgured out and ridding great and dumbass me goes and gets a new truck

what dd they change in the front end? I havnt been following them closely I intednt o keep this truck a long time. Its too hard to get them set up, know what I mean?

Im glad I can run mine stock suspension. Never had an issue wht leveling and all. I sit nose down a tad empty and level with the camper on.

I need to make that portsmouth trip one year. How low is too low for that rack on the ferry? I know it s apin, but you could just pull the rack on those occasions yo need to. Throw it on the back rack. Ive doen it.

well first off they changed the front hook set up , so i couldn't use the leed receivers
second they lowered the head lights , actually i think they put the headlights on the bottom and turn signals on top

well on this one there is a 3.5 inch different between the front and back. i put the camper on and it is just a little sagged in the back .

yea i could just pull it .. but when ya find out it is too low , you are usually 98% on the ferry . never had a prob with the old set up ..
well if ya wanna go down , do it before the nps screws it up like they are doing to hatteras !!

we just did 4 days at hatty and 10 at pi ..
that sortta does it for us this year
you were down when we were at pi
had a decent bite there , but not a lot of people fishing for them
it seems everyone is after flounder
waste of time imo !!
thinking about the second week in may next year to beat the bird closings in june
from what i hear drummin' is pretty good then .
yea the planning part for a trip there is a pain , but we think it is well worth the effort
