Nah, I agree with him. The city's tow truck drivers can get very petty and "imaginative" when it comes to what ridiculous law they're gonna tow you for.

After you get handcuffed and brought in, the whole time whining "it is just an aspirin, it's just an aspirin" and they start looking stuff up on a computer and after a few hours realize it is not a narcotic, it is only an aspirin, your free to go. This happened to my brother in 2000 or 2001 by the way. People telling police that they are innocent is not uncommon, and that is the answer my brother got when he was flipping out upon his release. He was also threatened with "failure to cooperate with a police officer" unless he left immediately. They win.

Your car has been impounded, you have wasted half a day at the police station and it's gonna cost you a few hundred to get on the road again. Plus the hassle e.t.c.

And "wrongful arrest" suit LOL. Waste a year or TWO of your life and a couple thousand with a lawyer to figure out that's a dead end to pursue...................

It really makes me ill feeling when people say "let them search us, I have nothing to hide". That's not the point. We have are innocent until proven guilty, not GUILTY until proven innocent by a quick law enforcement un-warranted/no probable cause search of our person/property.

Have you no pride?

JC
I agree 100%. No warrant, no probable cause, no consent from me. I know my rights and I exercise them. I made the mistake of consenting to a search once, never again.

The only mistake I made that day was driving by a bored state cop who was totally deserving of the term "pig". I was 18 years old and going to pick up my girlfriend at her house. On the way to her house, I saw the pig had a radar trap set up. When we left her house, I remembered that he was there so I made sure I did the speed limit. But as I drove by, he pulled out and as soon as he was up on my bumper, the lights went on. I had no idea why I was being pulled over and this was my first encounter ever with law enforcement. Cop asks for my license and registration. Turns out this ***** pulled me over since driving by him twice in a short amount of time made me look "suspicious". Then he asks me if I have any concealed weapons or illegal substances in my car. Of course I answered no. Then he asks if I mind if he searches my vehcile. I consented since I knew I had nothing to hide. He makes my girlfriend and I get out of the car and we both get searched. In my car he found what he was convinced was a marijuana stem. In the trunk of my car was an empty 35mm film canister. This was back before digital cameras and I was a photography buff as a teen. Apparently drug users keep their stuff in film containers. To make matters worse, I did not have my camera with me to prove that I actually was into photography. This jack booted thug considered this enough evidence to call for backup. So there I am, completely innocent, pulled over on the side of the highway with both my girlfirend and I being harrased by not one, but two pigs. In addition to the search, we were detained until state police drug sniffing dogs were brought in to search my car. The dogs found nothing, and after a couple of hours of harassment at the hands of these jerks, my girlfirend and I were released. Later I told my parents about what happend and my dad was so fumed that he called the state police barracks to file a complaint. They pretty much told him where he could shove it, and if he didn't like it, get a lawyer and sue.
