Default Painting plastic side plates????

I searched the forums and found some info on painting and baking. Can I assume that plastic side plates do NOT get baked? If correct I think temps were near 225F for baking metal parts? Guessing that would be fatal for plastic parts. Do I use lower temps 150F or just air dry or lamp bake?
Thanks

Cool Plastic Paint

I never painted a plastic side cover but have painted plastic B4, I like Krylon Fusion paint for painting plastic. Used it on a glass top outside table and it really held up on all the frame work.

I have painted the 710 plastic spools and baked them at 150* for 35mins with that same paint and they held up great BUT they do have a fiberglass mix in them.

Don,
I agree the spools seem like they would do OK in a low temp bake as the glass makes them harder with a higher melting point. The sideplates seem like
regular plastic and I would guess they'd soften even at lower baking temps. I think I'll sand and wash in propanol then prime with fusion (2 coats) then spray with the dupli-color and clear. My thoughts being the fusion, designed for use with plastic might give a better bond than an etching primer designed for metal? I'll need to see on a test piece if the dupli-color will cause the fusion to ripple. I hope to start that rotor before hunting season but the circus that's followed my aunt's passing has me constantly on the phone!
I actually got a jump on cleaning up the basement last night in hopes that I'll get to it next week! Thanks again for the parts, advice and help!
Be well, John
