I know SH more but have fished SB. From what I've seen, there are more places in SH that sometimes (based on beach erosion etc..) have a lot more structure and current than SB. Biggest difference of course is the option to fish the bay side at various tide stages. For those that simply fish the fisherman's beach and the first parking lot, little difference.

There's alot more options at SH vs. SB. SB might be good when bait are passing by, but other than that I've always considers SB to be a barren wasteland. At SH, there's plenty of places with structure that are more likely to attract and hold baitfish and predators. Get out and explore.

I have fished both areas religiously for years and know where the barren wasteland is and where the right spot is...one particular area always holds some kind of fish of various shapes and sizes....stripers, blues, weakies, fluke...and the other is hit or miss. The other area can be AWESOME, but most times you must be there when it happens...I ain't tellin' which is which

Hey thanks for the reply. I believe you are right after this wknd. I had a choice to fish SH or SB. I chouse Sb and ended up with zip. I almost attempted to take the hike to the tip of SH.. I really didnt see much of anything happening... What doy ou guys think are some of the more popular spots in SH. South beach, fishermans, horseshoe, or the tip?

I agree with jim k about the hook, although I have not fished sea bright nearly as much as I have the hook. and I’ve never fished the backside of seabright either. definitely prefer the hook for the options and the access.
about spots at the hook, there aren’t any magic spots there, just a lot of good ones for just about any conditions. like the rest of the beaches and bays, each seem to produce better at different times of the year, tides and weather conditions. and sometimes, they all seem to be void of fish. all that being said, I don’t doubt that the beachfront in sea bright holds fish at certain times and I certainly don’t plan on stopping my explorations there either. this time of year I wouldn’t limit myself to an either/or situation. jim k said “get out and explore” and I couldn’t agree more. try ‘em both. just make sure you pay attention and keep notes along the way. |
