Default As I indicated

above if all the saftey issues are covered then one could say fish at your own peril.

We can not surmise that his adventures are done in a vaccum. A saftey line or network should be part of the plans when one ventures to far off the beach searching for a record fish as well as understanding that in some cases the fish you seek needs to be respected for its powers and its food source.

If the whole thing is just about breaking some record and discarding the fish after the fact has been recorded that for me would be disrespecting the fish you seek. When individual saftey is compromised with regard to the saftey of the fish and one cuts the line . More planning needs to be done as now the fish you have fought will undoubtaly suffer the consequences of your action.

It is also noted that after fighting such a fish for a long time decreases the value of the meat and makes it less desirable. The lack of Bleeding and iceing until some time later only increases the chance that in fact the meat will be lost.

BFT are a very warm animal and once along side the proper handling of the animal needs to be followed and I would have to agree the challenge for a record should not overlook the proper handling of the fish caught that may result in reducing the value of the meat from that fish.

This should be part of the over all plan as well and more planning needs to be established to enhance the experience and not disrepect the fish you seek, in my opinion.
