  1. I guess I'm too late to the game, I live in the area you were at. Shrimp are to fishing florida as are clams are for the northeast. However, the best "Snook candy" is live pinfish.
  2. East coast maybe different, but the mullet are always around.
  3. I should of moved to south Florida instead of the tampa area..grr

  5. *Also adequately protects well from sting rays
  6. I just wear keen' s thick sole and the protection
  7. Might want to try suspending/sinking twitch baits like mirrolure mullet for subsurface reds and snook.
  8. I guess the pic didn't attach
  9. Yes and no, tactics are completely different down here, at least on the west coast/tampa bay area. Ripping pencils in my experience spooks the snook, jacks and ladyfish go bonkers, but snook not so much.
  10. Hit a local go to spot for me, snook, reds, Spanish macks, cobia, etc. Live lined a pinfish and nailed this linesider on the incoming tide. Did see a 4fter just sitting there..
  11. I just moved down from NJ in November to the east shore of tampa bay, and i can tell whats going full bore right now. Tarpon are everywhere, nothing giant like south Florida and the keys, but 3-4ft range. Speckled trout and silvers are always around. Snook are up on the beaches, but you have to be stealthy, live lined pinfish, greenbacks and live shrimp for live bait. Lure wise, bucktails work but we fish with flair hawk bucktails, not like the ones we use up north, chartreuse and white and the go to colors. ARS and grouper season just opened up. Anything else you want to know just ask.
