  1. I went yesterday, plenty of people there, I didn't buy anything though, seems like I have eveything already. Mudhen for lunch was fantastic.
  2. Fred will you be going to Wildwood this weekend? I'm going today. Fishing and boating expo at the Convention Center today and tomorrow.
  3. I would agree with the Sedonas as a good choice, even though they are a "freshwater" reel I have a 500 that I frequently use in the salt and landed a 30# stingray with it, that was quite the fight and the reel continues to work as it should.
  4. "If it ain't it'll do till a mess gets here."
  5. Had a Battle 5000 and the anodizing started to come off, I also stripped a gear on a big ray, probably my fault though. I replaced the gear and used flat black auto paint and now it lives in a box. I replaced it with a Gosa 5000 and 1 season so far so good,
  6. I'm a big fan of Avets, tough as nails and very easy to service yourself, I do not find Penn reels easy to service, lots of parts that fall out before you get to see how they fit.
  7. I agree with the bluefish theory, I've seen them attack snap swivels frequently, tie on a topshot and get rid of the hardware. If you feel you want a weight tie it after the hook and if it gets bit you'll still be hooked up. Braid has very little abrasion resistance so I always use mono or flouro leaders/
  8. If you go to the park it's worth going on the tour of the Nike Missile Base, just don't be late or you'll get a scowl from the tour guide.
  9. Hey Joe, good to see your still around. I never see you in GB anymore. Did Lucky John move to BL, I saw him off of IBSP when I was on the Susan Hudson with Cap'n Ed., formerly the Hunter. Remember this?
  10. Thanks for that!!! I won't be adding it to my boat wash. I'll just live with the spiders. It's really amazing how the get on the boat on a 100' dock.
  11. Great point!! Thanks, have a bunch of little critters around in the creek.
  12. Maybe not totally on topic but I think relevant. Came home after a week vacation and the boat was totally covered in spider webs. Early start on Halloween, I know!! I hosed them all off and used a foam cannon under the gunnels and every where I think the bitches were hiding. What do you think of adding permethrin to the boat wash to kill them, does it work on spiders?
