Anyone have any tips for dealing with spool slippage? I get it a lot with taller reels like my Penn FTH40. Once the line gets wet, it slips often under my thumb during a cast resulting in a backlash and a ton of frustration.
It's for a Penn Spinfisher V 6500LL. Purpose will mostly be for a bait and wait application. Most likely throwing out 6oz Sputnik sinkers and and a similar weighted chunk of mackerel as bait for shearling here in California. May also do double duty flinging out lures in Cabo. Prefer a 2pc rod anywhere from 11-12' and be under $150. Does that even exist?
