  1. I was in NJ last week from Kentucky and from thirty miles west of Baltimore to the Del Mem Bridge I never saw so many drivers texting. The worst was an elderly lady that was 2 ft over the broken white line to hitting the rumble strip,, I gave her the "up yours" but I made sure she wasn't looking. Like she would look up from her death wish work.... almost forgot to mention that on 6/10 I caught three flatties and the first two were keepers 19 and 181/4 and 14,, just call me lucky...actually you can call me Kentucky Mike,,, tight lines
  2. My trip to Jersey will be over before I know it. You that live here year round make me3 real jealous to all the opportunities to get out and fish the salt water stuff. i am either too early or too late on the the "good" flounder bite but boy i sure would like some pointers as to when they are bit..... I know we had a late spring in Ky and can't think that it's a lot different up here. Someone one needs to "drop me a line" when the flounder thing picks up so I can get back up to the saltwater promised land.. Until then God bless and tight lines everyone,,,,
  3. Hit the sand in cape may co just after eight and fished till three hrs of outgoing with 4 short flatties on plastics,,, I think I used up all my good luck on Monday,,,, tight lines,,,
  4. Late afternoon on friends boat near cape may county was slow to no on all our drifts, . saw pilot whales and assure they were working bunker schools, anywho no flounder,,,
  5. Up here for a week of visiting old "Air Force" buddies. Spent nearly four yrs. in Turkey, and of course some flounder fishing. Beginners luck, caught three and first two were "keepers", My mentor, Mr. Skinner would be proud of me. Hope to get out a few more times in the back before heading home to Ky.... Ky Mike ... tight lines all.
  6. Wonderful to hear from you bstriping, I really appreciate the encouragement to chase the reds into late Nov and even Dec. I have been looking at some "gear" to add to my assortment that I have purchased for the pursuit of the "flounder". I am looking at a 12' lamaglass with a fisher v by penn in a 4500. Any thoughts you might have on that would be greatly appreciated ,,, any how thanks from Kentucky, God bless and have a great Thanksgiving... later
  7. the harder I try the less I get accomplished.  ever said those words before? Well I want to visit North Carolina and do some semi serious surf fishing,,, what I would like is a nononsense recommendation or at least a "well that's one way to go at it". I'm looking at a 12' lamaglass and a penn fisher v 4500.  the rod is rated 2 to 6 lure wt.  will this get me started or should I try something else?  thanks for any  genuine comments... ps wishing all a good Thanksgiving..

  8. Hey Bstriping, I have been sizing up on a "bucket list" item and that would be to surf fish the Hatteras at Buxton near the famous Cape Point. My best friend and fishing buddy may get to make a trip there in Nov or Dec of next year. Is this too late to get in on some good surf fishing? I would certainly appreciate any good advice you could give me on the ins and out of what you have experienced in fishing this area... God bless and have a great thanksgiving....
  9. Hi Dan, I don't know enough about this email stuff to know for sure if you get my little messages. Hope this finds you well and just as busy as you want to be. I need to go fishing so bad my wife was asking some of the guys at church if they would take me croppie fishing. It's been a rough and extra wet winter with too much snow for my "druthers" mainly because we live on a little bank and I have about two hundred feet to shovel and clear when it does snow.. The memory of that one walleye I caught back in early December is seriously fading. Watching the weather and might take two days off to go to Tennessee to croppie fish with my best bud. We always seem to do pretty well cause he fishes pretty regularly and know where they are when I come down and we don't have to waste a bunch of time trying to find them... I hope to get back down on the Ohio river as the water warms up and settles down to catch some "Strippers" below the lock. Have some good friends to give me a call when the "bite" starts picking up. It's a comfort in a way just to talk about "fishing" while I'm just sitting around doing nothing... Did I tell you Santa brought me one of those new Penn Clash 2500 reels. I wasn't good or nothing like that but I did send Santa a threatening letter letting him know there would be "blood " if I didn't get one... lol gonna put it on the 13 Fish 7' 4" Green label mh salt water rod for my go to rod flounder fishing... gonna burry some of those nice jigs and bucktails into some monster flounder. I love it when they just stop that jig like you drug it into a "stump" and the stump swims off after you set the hook... love it love it, love it....
  10. I for one, have this terrible feeling that Trump could be our next President and an even greater fear that if Clinton is elected it will be even worse. No a lot worse. It's hard to put a real exacting "problem" I have with Trump. He says a lot of good even great things but there is just something there that scares the "crap" out of me... Bottom line is we have a messed up country that has gotten so much worse in the last seven years. I pray that our next President has "the good" of the country in his heart and that can't happen if a "Democrat" wins...
  11. thanks for the update, got another tip at church that a good croppie bite was on about thirtymiles south of where i live... just waiting for a break in the weather....
  12. Hi Dan, hope you had a good Christmas and New year. I was wondering if you had anyone report on using the lighter "wooble jigs" on walleye? The river that I live close to and occasionally get a chance to fish has some and I was thinking about try those jig and some "gulp" . I went last week with round ball jigs and caught one about 22 inches long. He didn't fight too hard but he sure did taste good. Biggest problem with me is the area I fish is real rocky and I loose a bunch of jigs when they get down in the rocks.. May have to go to a float and drift live minnows... but I'm gonna try the wobble jigs first...
  13. Yes sir, 4 of each color in each size for a total of 24 jig for this order . thanks again.. ps got an add from S&J tackle that they were discounting the new penn clash for 15% which I'll try on my new Fish 13 Omen "green" mh rod. Got the rod for 115 and can't wait to try it on the flounder... have a feeling it will see some striper and smallmouth action before I can get back south to do my "flounder in surf" thing in October...It's all good...
  14. Hi Dan, I would like to order some "wobble jigs. Please send me 4 each of the 3/8 oz. in pink, white and green. 4 each of the 5/8 oz. in pink, white and green. if curley tails come I like chartrouse and, or white... As I mentioned earlier I have my Pay Pal in order now ... thanks, mike h.
  15. gone with the wind........ the grapes of wrath....... briidge over the river quoi.... not sure of the spelling on that last one.. just remember it was a real good movie... most all the old ones were genuine and tastefully done.... not all this cussing and welll ... not all this cussing...
