  1. I have been catching stripers and properly caring for them for about 20 years just new to fly game!
  2. Looking for a box of starter flies to target stripers on Cape Cod. Just recently picked up fly fishing and starting from ground zero, so hoping someone might have an assortment of extras they would be willing to part with ... doesn't need to be fancy. I need the white bucktail, sluggo, deadly dick, savage sand eel, danny, pencil popper, atom 40, daiwa salt, bomber, magic swimmy assortment of flies (I am sure others speak my language). I also have MANY metal lips and other wood lures from years of surf fishing that I would happily trade (some GRS, Black Talon, D mags, Beachmasters, and other less fancy but very productive wood!) Thanks in advance! -AJ
  3. What are you offering from your GRS collection? I have used surface slim and new slim surfster.
  4. Boat is on it’s way from Florida today ...
  5. Yeah, it really is too bad that they aren’t maintaining those forums and allowing people to sign up. Can I pay you for access to your username!?!? (I’m only half kidding - I can’t see half the images or make any posts since nobody is “approving” new users. It’s super frustrating).
  6. Again, not sure if it is a mako vs seacraft thing, but a huge number of the commercial fleet have brackets on seacraft 23s on Cape Cod and i've never heard about having to compensate for weight. Maybe it's an issue and I am just unaware? I would be afraid to arbitrarily start moving the gas tank or console forward to try and guess on the center of gravity.
  7. I haven’t heard much about brackets throwing off center of gravity on the seacraft 23s for whatever reason. That said, the advice makes sense. Are you speaking from experience?
  8. I’m pretty sure it comes out to $3400 a piece. And thanks for the warning deep hole, but the Cape is a different animal ... for example, Sesuit harbor has a 40 year waiting list for a slip (that’s not a typo). They are franchises I believe, so also hard to compare across completely different owners. Again, no affiliation, but I’ve heard good things about it in this area. The only drawback is it is NOT cheap.
  9. Woops! In p town, you get 4 fisherman for the price of 1. Two fisherman, plus each of their husbands. Now that’s a deal!
  10. This is a bit unorthodox, but does anyone have any interest in splitting a Freedom Boat Club membership? I would primarily be using it on Cape Cod, and I believe they market a friends and family package that allows two users (plus significant others) to sign up under the same membership. It basically allows you to chop down the initial initiation fee considerably, and you go from having 4 bookable time slots to 6. Not ideal for two guys going every single weekend, but could be perfect for weekend warriors who go down the cape here and there (I’m a cape local turned warrior, so don’t lay into me). As far I know this doesn’t violate any rules and it appears they actually market the idea. If anyone is interested, please PM me. I have no association with any boat clubs or hidden agenda, just looking for a more affordable option.
  11. He’s got everything and is an A+ guy / seller. But very good advice!
  12. The old seacrafts are rated for twins and 400+ horsepower (granted they were lighter two strokes back then). One of the most “bracket-able” boats there is, which definitely factored into my decision.
  13. I pulled the trigger ... maybe I’m crazy but looking forward to making this a labor of love. If anyone else has first hand experience with redoing these in the cape cod area, would love to learn what I can from you. Thanks for the help already to those who reached out.
  14. Thanks! I don’t mind a project. If anyone has direct experience, would love to pick your brain.
