I have been powder painting a base coat, what is the best way to recoat them with other colors full or half coat also what to use to make hand painted eyes? I usually bake the base coat. I ave been making the eyes with finger nail polish and using clear coat finger nail polish. So far I have had no real problems, I don't make them to sell so if a lure gets damaged I just re do it or melt it down. I usually make enough to supply 100 fishermen LOL. Thanks Lou

If they are already coated/baked and you decide to add more colors, buy a cheap hot air gun and heat the jig up. You only need to heat it up enough to get the powder to adhere fo the jig. Do not worry if the paint sticks to the jig and looks coarse. Bake it again for 15-20 minutes at 300-350 again, the powder will flux over and should get smooth again.

I base coat most colors woth white, use a cheap crayola paint brush and dip tip into the second, third or 4th color, hold it above the jig and tap the handle so the paint falls where I want it. How mush powder you put on the brush and how high/hard you tap it comes with practice, and how big an area you are doing.

I just use the little bottles of that stinky lure pain. Depending on what size jig you are doing, find a drill bit that size, dip the bottom of the drill bit into the paint, dab it onto the jig.
