Penn Fierce Spinning Reel
nice reel
Pros: tough,cheap
nice reel,u can have what u get from Penn Battel for much less cash, when i buy it i did not expect to be like that ,its nice tough reel ,just make sure u clean it wiz fresh water after fishing
Fierce 6000 - Good all round reel and well priced.
Pros: Price, smoothness and drag
Cons: bail arm feels slightly flimsy
Amazing reel and fished the whole season with this reel. Was hit by a wave and submerged this completely along with rod at the start of season. I don't recommend doing it..... but it still works and is as smooth as ever! Full metal body and no signs of corrosion or rust as yet.
Down side is the bail arm feels a little weak, but to date absolutely no problems with it at all. Biggest I have caught that tested it was an 8 lb sand shark (which is nothing) but I'm sure you could easily land fish up to 30lbs with it. Especially if you have the drag set correctly.
For the price and all in I would say yes. It's well worth it.
Fierce 4000
Pros: Smooth Drag, Casts Well
Cons: Finish chips and scatches too easily
I own the Fierce 4000 and fished it pretty hard about 40 different times this past season. Caught a few decent and mostly smaller blues and stripers with it and drag was smooth. To me, its a nice little light and powerful reel that fits how and where I fish perfectly. Only downfall, same as the Sargus I own, chips and scatches easy.
