- The following is a press release about the South Shore Classic with the correct dates - 

SOUTH SHORE CLASSIC ON TAP FOR OCTOBER 19-21
Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 19, The Fisherman Magazine, along with the New York State Parks Department will be holding their annual South Shore Classic. The Classic, which rewards the top angler in both bass and bluefish division a $500 check, sees up to 500 anglers participate each year. Anglers in second through fifth places will receive prizes, including Lamiglas, St. Croix and Daiwa rods, Penn Reels, Surfcaster and Plano Tackle bags and much
more. As in years past, the Classic will be followed by an award ceremony at Captree State Park where all in attendance will receive a goody bag, a couple cans of soda and a chance at valuable raffles, all included for free! The contest runs from 6 p.m. Friday until 12 noon Sunday. The entry fee is $10, with all proceeds funneled towards enhancing access for the surf angler.
