The Sandy Hook Fence/Access
Issue
(If you have not signed the petition yet, please
click
here and at least read through it)
Thank you for taking the time to sign this petition. When called upon, we will retrieve all the signatures and data from the server and present them to Sudsy who will in turn present them to the JCAA to be combined with the signatures gathered from tackle shops and other retail establishments from all over. The information that you entered will be handled according to our Privacy Policy - in other words, not a single pieced of information you entered will be used for anything other than the clear purpose for which it was gathered. No email address has or ever will be sold, traded, made available, leased, loaned or otherwise made public to anyone. Your name, address and phone number are equally protected by our Privacy Policy and will not ever be made public beyond our transfering of this ultimately to the JCAA strictly for the purposes of this petition. You may be contacted by the persons who will eventually receive this information in order to validate your petition entry, we have no control over that nor do we know for sure if it will occur but thought we'd warn you just in case.
But you aren't quite done yet. When it comes to getting the attention of our lawmakers and government, petitions rank rather low on their list of importance. In order to really get their attention, it's imperative that you also print out, sign and mail them a letter with your concerns. Please, be respectful, do not be insulting. Let them know you are concerned that, without cause, you are afraid of losing another valuable, historic and important fishing access on the New Jersey coast. If you are uncomfortable writing or simply do not have the time, you can print out the example letter from this site, sign it, put your address and telephone number - and mail it to the following addresses. Emailing the letter is not even remotely as effective as taking the 5 minutes to print out, hand sign and stick them in an envelope - please take the few minutes and put these letters in the mail.
The Letters
The example letters in a printable format are here - print them, sign them and mail them, it will make a very distinct impression when they receive these or your own personal letters!
Senator
Corzine
Senator
Lautenberg
Congressman
Pallone
**don't forget - underneath your signature, put your
street address, town, state and zip code. Again, this will add validity
to your letter.
These are the addresses:
Senator Jon Corzine
One Gateway Center, 11th Floor
Newark, New Jersey 07102
Senator Frank Lautenberg
One Gateway Center
Twenty-Third Floor
Newark, NJ 07102
Congressman Frank Pallone
504 Broadway
Long Branch, N.J. 07740
As fishermen, we need to gather together for this one and make a big noise - no one else is going to do it for you. Thank you for your time and effort.

(Much thanks to Sudsy for doing the legwork
and getting me this petition, the example letters and all the other information!
And thank you to the JCAA for getting involved, their political connectedness
is a very powerful tool in a fight such as this.)
