March 22, 2000:

UPDATE: Dave Powell put this up on SurfTalk and I thought I would put it up here for anyone interested. The arrangements have been made for Chris' service, they can be found at http://www.amsa-sportfishermen.org/funeral.htm Our prayers and best wishes for Chris' family and friends.

I moved yesterday's page dedicated to Chris Rogers to the archives. I wasn't sure if I should leave it up another day, but somehow, I get the feeling Chris would want us to get back to the fishing talk. The many folks that have written me concerning Chris have left me with the feeling that he will be sorely missed...our hearts go out to all of you who are grieving now over this tragic loss, especially his family and closest friends. We will continue to pray for the Lords intervention to help you through the healing.

The icy cold weathers continues at night, we should be seeing some relief in the near future, but these cold nights will certainly set us back some with the season just trying to get it's feet in the door. There have been loads of reports lately of the worm gang scoring each time they get out. Charlie and I, most because of your excellent email barrage on him, went the other night. We really didn't fish, it was below 40 degree with a 25kt east wind blowing...but we did put our lines in the water...I think I tossed my clouser 4 times...Charlie maybe 5 times. The tide was wrong, the weather was wrong, but we did do it. Thanks to all you guys that "encouraged" Charlie to get out there...even though it was miserable, it was still fishing to some degree and we had some laughs on the drive both ways.

We got behind here on the pictures of the new color Lex Lures, but they will be up this evening. I am redoing the shopping section of this site, I'm not happy with the way it is now. There will be 4 or 5 new flies....not really new to me, but new to this site.  The Deadly Dozen is still a big hit, they are leaving here as fast as I can tie them up!  All the flies in it are in stock and they are leaving within 24-48 hours of receiving the orders. The assortment packs of jigs will be next. Bronco Bags will be available tomorrow. Whiplash is sadly on backorder... I ordered a bunch and got none...so sad. I did get in the Penn 525Mag reels.  My first impression is that it's a solid reel, I will let you know how it casts and handles next time I can get out to the inlet with some jigs.

That's it for now, there's a lot of changes coming in the immediate future! I'm working on a menu that's a little easier to view than the list at the right side of this page...but there's so many links that it's taking quite a while to get it together.  The Community Calendar! that I put up is getting used now!  I think it will become very popular...put any events on there you think we should know about or just things you want us to know about! Please, don't use it as a commercial advertising tool...I'll have to remove self promotional events of a commercial nature. Advertising and sponsoring of this site is nearly completed now, rates and structuring will be available shortly....to allow unpaid commercial promotions here will not help to encourage advertisers so I will have to keep the unpaid ads to a minimum.  Have a good one folks, say a prayer for Chris' friends and family......

Sincerely,

Tim Surgent

March 23, 2000:

Today's my birthday, I'm a little older, a little wiser, and a lot more thankful for all that the Lord has blessed me with. I'm not really one for reflection, I prefer to look ahead and think in terms of "what's next?"  Birthdays, weddings, and the passing of people my own age are certainly exceptions to this train of thought. I'm sure there's some good that comes from reflection into ones past, since I married Carole almost 4 years ago, I find myself much more emotional when it comes to looking back. I think it has to do with the fact that I've been entrusted with her well being all the rest of the days of my life...a responsibility that I eagerly chose. After being frustrated and physically ill for nearly 2 years, I can now look back into the immediate past and smile...life is again good. I am doing now what I've always wanted, concentrating on sharing something that I've always loved with people that share that love. At this point, it's a lot of work for very little (financial) reward, but I am confident that will change in the near future. I really owe all the thanks not to some ingenious planning on my part, but 100% of the thanks to the many hundreds of you who call StripersOnline home and to the thousands of you that make StripersOnline a daily stop in your web surfing! By the rate of growth here, you are all telling me that honesty and respect really do have a place in today's internet world. The people that call this place home are a unique bunch, honest, respectable, and experienced surf fishermen that enjoy sharing their years of experience with those who are new to the sport as well as debating their "findings" with others who are likewise experienced...it's awesome!  The statistics for the first 20 days of March are more than double those for the entire month of January...I'm new to this, but that sounds like a good start to me! ;^)  This site has been where it's currently at since January 16, 2000....since that time, the site has responded to 1,632,000 hits...a total of around 200,000 separate page views, again, I'm thinkin' this is a lot!  Again, thanks to you guys, you all help keep it interesting, you answer question, you tell your friends, you make this place feel like the home it was intended to be!  As the site begins to produce a positive cash flow, new features will spring up all the time. I've been working on many tools for you as fishermen/women....and there are still more in process...and as always, send your suggestions@stripersonline.com The suggestions that you folks offer are the best way for me to gauge your satisfaction with the way things are. I guess I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for helping me get this off the ground and I look forward to many, many good times with all of you!

March 24, 2000:

First, sincere thanks to all of you that wished me happy birthday yesterday! I didn't do anything special...but I did take a 5 hour break from work to spend with the wife...much needed and much appreciated time with the woman I love.  I don't like cake, she made me baklava...no Stu, not balaclava...but baklava! ;) If you've never had this delicious confection made of Filo dough, chopped walnuts, butter, brown sugar, and honey...you're probably thinner than I am! :D  It's good stuff, I assure you...I'll see if I can't get her to whip up a few big things of it for the fling...you all might need the sugar rush after stomping the suds for a dozen hours! It sometimes gets to the point on those all nighters where you can't even face another cup of coffee.

Now for the unpleasantness in this mornings page. I figured since this site, our pride and joy, where respect and honesty are far more important than just filling pages with drivel...I figured since we were collectively attacked in public, that I'd address it in public. For those of you that have been around for while, you might know some of the history associated with that "other site" and MikeP, DaveC, JohnM, Phil L, and myself. Seems we were tossed from there for disagreeing with the proprietor...his right. Now it seems that the only attraction left over there, a writer contracted by the proprietor to draw a crowd, seems he felt it necessary to publicly, maliciously, and falsely...well, I'll let his words speak for themselves.

"It is the other forum making remarks about my age and being in my mid-sixties and
losing it because I don't get 40s. (I want to tell them to bring their mothers in here
and I'll show them who is too old.) But I didn't. (my note: Errr....you just did tell us)  Because if those women are having children like that I wouldn't touch them with "yours"." (my note: Very nice, he's personally making derogatory remarks about everyone's mother...class act, huh?)

A poster by the name DannyH over there visited here, searched over 7000 posts and found one mention of this authors name...in one paragraph...buried in a thread with 42 replies...the paragraph reads as follows:

"To add to the apparent big Striper scarcity observation, I found *(the author's) comment and response to a question on the "other site" interesting... *(the author), who some would say is one of the preeminent Striperman of our time, has not landed a 40# + Striper from the surf since 1990. Not in 10 years for a man who at one time, back in the mid-60s through most of the 70s, landed 40# Bass on a fairly regular bases. When I read about his 40# Striper void, I though that perhaps old Frank, who I believe is now in his mid 60s, was not as sharp as he use to be or simply the big Bass were becoming less and less. Maybe a combination of both reasons in *(his) case."

*the author's name was removed....I'm not sure why, I'm guessing he knows that he's legally responsible and accountable for anything he says in pubic....call it some respect left over for who he used to be.

I'm not one to usually stoop to the level of jealous mud slinging...but in all fairness, I had to ask him for some proof of the slanderous remarks and derogatory remarks about people and thier mothers...neither of whom he has ever met. I actually sunk to his level and went over "there" and posted in his column asking for some facts to back up his slander. I'm sure the post will be pulled...if it isn't addressed, I'll make sure I put it on Surf Talk as I expect I will be trashed on that site....the guys that are forced to breathe through thier mouths due to thier submerged noses will no doubt yell and scream...rather than reading what I wrote. Many of you know me, I don't pick fights, I won't even usually reply to attacks like this, but when someone who's supposed to a revered and respected author/writer publicly attacks me, you, and this site...I felt I had to...just to try and extract some facts from the fiction.  I'm done...I won't bother you any longer with this...I just felt to be attacked in public we deserve to be defended in public. End of rant....at least from me!

I hope you guys aren't offended by my slight tirade, I hate to see our good name bad mouthed...I was just talking this over with a good friend of mine...he summed it up in one sentence "A drowning man will grab toothpicks."  Wise words....maybe someone's feeling the heat...I've been hearing rumors for a few weeks...maybe they are founded in fact after all. :)

How bout some fishing? I know I could certainly use a little fresh air...Friday night...tides are all wrong, it'll probably snow and the wind will probably blow...but I'm going anyway...even if it's only to smell the sweet salty surf...it cleanses my soul! Just a few deep, cool breaths of that whiff of surf/sand smells....it's just perfect when you need to unwind! Look to the FishingReports! to really take off as soon as this last taste of winter moves outta here....I know I'll be putting my reports in there!

Sincerely,

Tim Surgent

March 25, 2000:

Update: The new Dave Powell's excellent surf humor cartoons! is up...again, it's excellent...but I'm at a loss for superlatives as this is the 10th one now and Dave just keeps gettin' funnier and funnier! Sadly, today was the funeral for Chris Rogers, the young man who tragically passed away earlier this week...please keep his friends and family in your prayers.

Charlie and I did make it out last night....actually, this morning at about 3:30am. It was a spectacular night as far as weather and conditions go....sadly, the unicorns did not think so! A couple mysterious bumps on the clousers we were fishing, but just enough to make you wonder if it really happened....not enough to bend the rod.  We did see shrimp and sandworms, just drifting around on the surface as the tide ebbed into daylight....the table was set, the guest of honor did not appear. I'm pretty sure I heard at least two fish pop, but again...it could be the overeager ears of a long winter playing tricks. I think it was fish...I have no proof.  We did enjoy our first decent attempt...we didn't spend more than 90 minutes out there, but it sure was a pleasure and an honor just to be back among the creatures of the salt! Next time........

Update...more to come this afternoon. For now, check out the new survey...it's a different format, I'm trying to find one that remains fast even after a couple hundred folks take the survey. The results for the last one will be online soon...I have to put it in a format other than the array it's now in! Click here for the new survey, StripersOnline Survey II.  Also, check back later for the new Rockfish and for some more info! It's awful nice out there at 6am...you might want to try and do a little fishing this afternoon as the clouds thicken up! Enjoy...

Sincerely,

Tim Surgent

March 26, 2000:

It's Sunday morning, another day I don't usually write but felt compelled to do so this morning! First, I've archived the unpleasantries from Friday and closed the thread on the forum pertaining to it...it is over. At least for this site it is, there will no doubt be continued insults and innuendo from where the original attack came from, but I would expect no less. Let our action speak for us, they will do so 10 times louder than our words. Same for the other site, there actions are speaking 10 times louder than their words...let's leave it at that.

Second, Charlie and I got out yesterday afternoon...no, we didn't chase the elusive and elegant unicorn, we went to a couple local small lakes with 5 wt fly rods and caught yellow perch, white perch, blue gills, pumpkin seeds, and largemouth bass. The bass were all quite small, but everything is capable of bending the 5 wt! It was a pleasure and a joy getting the hands stinky for the first time since January 12th! I know, they weren't stripers....I'm not completely satisfied with this either, but I'll sooner catch fresh water critters on the fly rod than stand next to a rod in a spike with worms on the hook! Nothing against you guys doing that, you're all scoring probably as I speak here, it's just not for me. I think Charlie and I will try to repeat the same thing today...we were going to float tube a different lake, but one of the tubes was destroyed under the boat cover this winter. It's odd, the outer shell of the tube was shredded. C'est la vie, the tubes have a lifetime warranty, but that won't keep us bobbin' like Cheerios this weekend....maybe we'll take one of the little boats with us today. Just nice to be able to cover some water with the small fly rods. We'd rather do it in tubes, but better a small boat than trying to wade some of the muddy lakes and ponds...they aren't open enough for a land based fly rod assault....well, most aren't.

So, it's off to some kinda hint this morning, I hope you all get some opportunity to wet a line over this weekend, it's a spectacular one out there, enjoy it! Maybe we'll hunt our striped brethren this evening....

Sincerely,

Tim Surgent

March 27, 2000:

What a nice weekend this was weather wise! I've left up the pages below from over the weekend, as about only 1/3 of you check in with us over the weekend. Charlie and I got out just a little bit over the weekend, nothing to not other than it was very nice out...the details are found below!  We settled for some fresh water fishing in some local lakes...caught lots of little stuff...but then on the 5wt fly rods, even 10" largemouths can give you at least a bend in the rod. We hit one spot so loaded with the little largemouths, they soon came to be known as "sweetwater unicorns".  It was fun, it wasn't striper fishing, but it was fun...no bait was involved!  I heard Phil lost a nice fish dunking worms over the weekend...sorry Phil...you play with worms, you're gonna start having strange things like that happen! ;) I'm kidding of course, worms are killer this time of year...actually, pretty much any time of year when stripers are involved. Just none for me thanks....they will start taking the shrimp imitations this week, no doubt in my mind...if we can just get the tides we need and the wind from the right direction, this will be the week where it all starts!

Two "cool new things" went up over this weekend. The first, another survey in a different format. The first survey got so big after a couple hundred of you took it, some twice by the way....naughty, naughty, trying to stuff the ballot box! This survey you can only take once...the way it should be. The results from the first one are coming, it was pretty interesting even though it was only a test, you guys are awesome when it comes to amusing me and helping me get the bugs worked out of things like these scripts. This survey is a little different, much faster with the results...not so simple from this end, they are tough to add to the questions, but the results being so fast are certainly worth the trouble from this end. On your right, you'll notice the link for the survey...I'll put it here StripersOnline Survey II just so those of you that skim this stuff will no doubt notice the blue letters and read this part ;)  The second cool thing is actually a very cool thing...we all got stuff...we really don't use all of it or need all of it....we often wonder just how can we get rid of it for free...and still get a fair price for it? Yup, you guessed it, our very own  StripersOnline e-Surf Auction! Yessir, I put the first thing up for bid late last night! I have very high hopes for this one, it will likely change in the near future as far as the wording of the text, the only thing I'd like to add right here, right now, any transactions will be handled completely by the involved parties! If there's a problem, you know I will certainly do all I can to get the buyer and the seller together, but seeing as how we're all adults here, any issues other than the most serious ones, I'd prefer you to take care of them amongst yourselves.  That probably goes without saying, but I feel better now that I've said it! So, check it out...picture all your old stuff sitting there for free collecting bids from the interested parties....I think I'm going to like this one, I'm as much of a collector as the next guy!  As with all the other cool things we put together for you all to enjoy, I am asking you to keep it on the same level there as you all have been diligent in doing so on the other areas of this site. I will, without any hesitation, tell you right here and right now, I am not aware of a more respectable gathering online of surf fishing folks, you guy continue to make me proud all the days you are here!

There's more to go over, but I will leave it at that for now and add more as the day wears on...I got a bajillion things to take care of at the moment! Enjoy your Monday, when it's over, you'll be one day closer to next weekend....and our striped friends should be very eager to mix it up with us by then!

Sincerely,

Tim Surgent

  March 28, 2000:

Today's my younger brother Kyle's birthday and I'd like to wish him the happiest of birthdays....he keeps telling me how old I am at (recently) 34. So, Kyle, how's it feel to be 31? ;)  34 doesn't seem that far away now, does it?  Kyle's getting married this year to a sweetheart named Karen, a real treasure and a blessing to Kyle and our entire family. Happy birthday Kyle, you're a great brother and friend!

Well, the Spring Fling is really sneaking up fast now...only a little more than 50 days to go before the big event! Registration will be cut off on May 5th...that leaves about 36 days to register if you haven't done so already...the way this is shaping up, you're not gonna want to miss it....this stands to be a most excellent gathering of friends and talent from about 8 states on the east coast.  I'm excited...there's a lot of folks coming that I've been yakking to for almost 2 years now but have never met! Many of my online "old friends" will be there....I don't want to start naming names yet...it would be easier to list who's not yet registered!  Excellent news from JoeH last night...he owns an embroidery business and has offered to take on the awesome responsibility <grin> of doing the first round of StripersOnline T-shirts, hats, and/or jackets at what sounds like is going to be a most excellent price!  Joe...I'll respond to your email as soon as I get this page up...you're offer was very generous and of course graciously received! It's a great feeling to watch this "community" grow and work together...we can really make something out of this place, we already know each to some degree....that's the biggest barrier out there to a business, knowing people. I think it's time to put up a page specifically concerning the Spring Fling where we will duly reward all those businesses that have or are planning to help out...whether it's doing T-shirts or donating prizes....I think we might even "encourage" some others to get involved for some "free" advertising! So, anyone who owns a business that in any way can contribute to the Fling who would like to trade some contribution for some free advertising on the upcoming "Spring Fling Page", send me an email at sales@stripersonline.com and we'll try and work something out!  I think it's a good idea, everyone wins!

Yesterday I put up a new cool thing, the StripersOnline e-Surf Auction but as of yet, I have the only items up for auction! Try it out, it's free...you're reaching an all fishing audience, I'll host your pictures if you want a picture of your item in there. I put up another assortment in auction this morning...I called it the "Fancy Fly Assortment"....$80 worth of 3 sizes of Slab Flies, Silicone Spearing, Foam/Epoxy Poppers, and the deadly Silicone Mullet....and I'm looking only for a $20 reserve!  Egads, is he insane you ask yourself?!?!?  Well, that's not really been decided yet....but he does have a plan! I want you guys to use it...you can set your reserve so that you won't be forced to sell something below that you would expect to get for it. You decide how long the auction runs, from 1 to 15 days.  It also has a feature that I think is very important....the auction will end at the time you set....or 5 minutes after the last bid! That means, if there are a bunch of folks waiting for an auction to end (like on eBay ;)) the auction won't just stop when the time expires....it will "wait" until 5 minutes after the last bid....no "snipers" will sneak in and over bid you by a little bit...you'll have 5 minutes to make a "counter bid". This works out well for the buyer and the seller, you won't miss something you wanted just because someone timed their bid better, and the seller won't leave money on the table! Try it out, you've got nothing to lose!

One last thing, the StripersOnline Survey II only shows 112 so far...I know, it's only been a couple days, but that means that only 10% of you that visit here daily are taking my poor survey :(  Come on, the sooner we get this outta the way, the sooner I can decide where to focus my energy to make this place better for all of you! I've already found out some interesting things from the survey....I won't divulge them here so as not to affect your answers, but let me say, I am getting a better feel for areas of improvement as well as which areas you'd like to see expanded. This is all good my friends, I want this place to be exactly what you want it to be...and the only way for us to do that is to ask you guys/gals questions....so fess up, take the survey...if you don't want to answer a question, just leave the "no answer" box checked. The answers you do give will help with the continued fine tuning of this site...in the long run, it's in your best interest! ;)  And what's with the ladies? I know of a handful of you that hang here...but out of 112 respondents, they are all male! Come on ladies, we'd love to hear your input for ladies have an entirely different perspective on things than us guys...a very valuable perspective! This will be the last time I mention the survey...I hate to appear pushy!  :)

Charlie and I are planning another assault on the stripers, our prior attempt over the weekend was unsuccessful...but we've both got that "feeling" about this next trip! We'll keep you posted as to what we find. I hope all of you enjoy your Tuesday and I'll see you again on Wednesday!

Sincerely,

Tim Surgent

March 30, 2000:

UPDATE: JohnM and his wife Christa would like to introduce Kathryn Yvonne! "Kat" weighs in at 7 pounds 2 ounces and an "almost legal" 22 inches! Congratulations John, Christa, and welcome Kat!  To quote the brand new father:

"What an experience, truly amazing....a little life so small.....amazing......thanks for your prayers and thoughts. "

So big John's a dad now and I guess we're all aunts and uncles! We couldn't be happier! :)

The 30th of March already...where do the days go? It seems just yesterday we were all lamenting the departure of our striped brethren...all except "How many more ways can I crush the very spirit of these surf folks with my hundreds of big bass from the boat this winter" Thill! ;)  Actually, Thill lost a moose...a LARGE Grande if you will...the story's on the board....I feel for the guy, been there, done that, it leaves you questioning the very fabric of your world for a while...but you get over it! Spring is in the air as the surf temps stabilize in the 45 degree neighborhood...and according the FishingReports! the bass are being caught on rubber shad already! This is a sure sign that the next night the winds and the tides are in our favor, Charlie and I will bring home the pleasurable stink of fresh caught (and released) fly rod unicorns! See, I really don't like to fish, I just like the way stripers smell. Well, maybe I like to fish a little, you got me. ;^)

This morning's page could very well find one of our long time compadres and our senior typing consultant (hehehe), John "typo" M and his wife Christa as brand new parents!?!? What a joyous occasion that would be! Seems John got "the call" late this afternoon and sent out some emails titled "This could be it!" Well, John my friend, I certainly hope that all went well and you are now in the possession of one fine lil' keeper....I'll bet it's a boy!  Carole and I prayed for you guys tonight...not that it's a boy, but that all went super smoothly and you're not still in the hospital with one of them "stubborn" labor situations that we've all head about! If my guess is correct, I'll put the details up here as soon as you let me know! If it was indeed a false alarm, please disregard this message. ;)

The trip Charlie and I had planned for Tuesday night was routed to Wednesday night due to high winds....the trip that was routed to Wednesday night was routed to Thursday night because of continuing high winds...and wouldn't you know it, I was recently informed of a previous engagement for Thursday night? :( Well, at least it's for a good cause...my brother and fiancé are taking Carole and I out to celebrate my (recent) increase in age. It promises to be a good time....I like food...and so does my brother...him more than me, but I can hold my own! I'll enjoy dinner, hug and thank everyone, drop Carole off here, pick up Dubs, and make a bee line to catch the outgoing tide! It certainly seems to be a busy day ahead, and that's not including the fact that I am currently re doing the entire shopping section of this site! :( Yuck!! I don't like the way it was before, too much hassle to put together an order....you think in all the things I try to make nice and simple around, you think I'd make it convenient for you to give me your money! Well, that's what I'm working on, the whole thing, top to bottom...much nicer, much simpler...you won't have to go to the "cart" each time you add something...you won't have to hit "recalculate" to order more than one of something, and you will be able to order everything on one page in any quantity you want before you have to even change pages. Also, I'm going to "group" things and do away with many of the pages. For example, I've got the "Epoxy Sandeel Page" mostly done now....check it out...it's not final the way it is, but you'll get the idea. It still takes you to the cart each time you order something, but that won't be when I'm finished! Careful, the page is "live"...if you go all the way through and check-out...you'll be getting some of these Sandeel flies! Hey, that's not a bad thing, they are pretty sharp ya know!

I ran into a big problem with the pearlescent pink sided Lex Lure photos that I'm currently working diligently to rectify....I took about 50 pictures...and not in any one of them could I make out the slightest hint of pink in the photos :(  I'm working on another batch of photos now, I know you guys will love these, they are looking good! I talked to Hab's Plugs today, John shipped me out a box of them to "test" out...and if they are half as nice as some well respected individuals have been telling me and the prices are fair, I will make them available. Another interesting note, today Gibb's Plugs contacted me and inquired as to my feelings on thier plugs. I replied honestly and candidly addressing my biggest gripes....prices and past unavailability. I told them I love the finish on their plugs and that there are certain "niche" plugs that only they make. We'll see where that goes...I'm curious!

That's it for now, need to get rolling...just think, it's Thursday already!?!?! Yeeeeehaaaaaaaaa!!!! Friday's coming....and that means fishing!!

The StripersOnline e-Surf Auction is getting some attention...of course, it's slow going in the beginning...but Charlie and I put together a BIG box of "stuff" that will put up there as soon as I can write it all down. Not to mention, I've been "acquiring" some things just for the auction...let's see...some very unique poppers, some tiny 3 1/2" long clear with metallic insert pencil poppers that will cast a mile, great Mirror-Lures in the 2 1/4 oz size...pink/clear w/ metallic silver foil inside, green/clear and white, blue/clear and white...these are killer lures that I used to use in fast current. The difference is that these are brand new, in the box, and if you fish the Ditch, IRI, the Rip, or any place where there's good current, these puppies are for you! From the surf, unless it's deep, fast, or very rough, you won't need them...but I love them for current. They cast like rockets and sink well. I can't wait to bring some to the Ditch....and IRI, they look perfect for that. Also, some Yo-zuri Aile Magnets, in a pretty faint rainbow color exactly like the pearl bomber with the faint blue/yellow/pink splotches on the side, very sharp! A bunch of other very cool poppers, clear with big eyes and metallic inserts. Lots of stuff. The $80 Fancy Fly Assortment is currently at $40 and that auction ends at 8:41am on Friday!! The Smilin' Bill Jig Assortment, around $50 worth of new jigs is a tighter race, it's currently at $39.50 and ends at 2:43pm Friday! There's also a Penn 4400SS w/ spare spool and separately, a Penn Spinfisher Surf Stick, 8ft...neither of these items have any bids on them yet! Geesh, I'm gonna put a bid on the lil' Penn spinner myself...who knows, maybe it'll go cheap. Those small Penn's are good ones...it's the big ones that have always been a headache! I got a 7' St. Croix stick that I love currently without a reel on it! Hmmm....maybe I should get rid of some of the "extra" reels around here, some are in great shape just taking up space.  Anyway...if you got something you wanna get rid of, give this auction a shot, you only have to sell it if your reserve is met, you have nothing to lose and it will help the auction get started!

One last thing, take the StripersOnline Survey II !!  I am getting a better feel for areas of improvement as well as which areas you'd like to see expanded. This is all good my friends, I want this place to be exactly what you want it to be...and the only way for us to do that is to ask you guys/gals questions....so fess up, take the survey...if you don't want to answer a question, just leave the "no answer" box checked. The answers you do give will help with the continued fine tuning of this site...in the long run, it's in your best interest! ;)

Sincerely,

Tim Surgent
