A few 7" Red Gills, never caught anything on them, put their principle is solid! :) I have done ok on the smaller ones, but there are a hundred other things that last longer that work when the small ones work, these 7" Gills are unique...change the hooks, the giant 8/0 hooks that come with them rust and weigh about an ounce each...I put 5/0 Mustad 34007's in mine...they are solid, don't rust, and don't weigh much at all!
