Korker Modification
For those of you looking for the solution to Korkers whose studs last about 3 rocks. here's the best solution I've seen. It's really just a slightly tweaked copy of BassBlitz's Korkers. BB has been using these for a full season in Montauk and can attest totheirperformance and durability. |

The main problem with Korkers is the stud. The round after a couple of sessions. The modified version uses Stainless steel screws and SS nylon lock nuts. No more rusted studs.

The second problem is strap breakage. This is solved with a piece of rubber radiator hose that gets screwed to the bottom. |

The final problem is laces breaking. Switch the standard for parachute cord purchased at a marine supply or climbing store. Another peave of mine with the old style korkers is having to duct tape them on so you don't loose them. Mike Lang had a good suggestion. He uses the back strap from the K500 korkers to buckle the sandal to his leg. So here's some photos. For $20 buck or so, you too can have korkers that don't fail |
